What it is
Cypress bundles runner, assertion ergonomics, and a GUI debugger into one package and executes tests inside the browser, giving unusual introspection during authoring. The commercial Cypress Cloud adds parallelization, flake detection and review tooling. Entry here summarizes public documentation and ecosystem reputation, not hands-on measurement.
Editorial basis: vendor documentation and public information reviewed by our editors; written originally for this catalog. Hands-on testing has not yet been performed. Last editorial update 2026-08-26.
